So, 'Bonding' (2023) is an interesting mix of drama with a definite thriller edge. You’ve got Dr. John Flemington, a psychologist, who’s supposed to be off to Mexico to see his girlfriend, but life throws him a curveball with these shadowy underground operatives pulling at him. The pacing feels kind of deliberate, building tension as we watch him grapple with his choices. The atmosphere is heavy, almost claustrophobic, especially in those bar scenes. There's a sense of isolation that really gets under your skin. The performances are strong, particularly the lead who captures that internal conflict really well. It’s unique in how it melds psychological elements with the thrills of espionage without going overboard on action.
Strong character-driven narrative.Explores themes of obligation and choice.Intense performances with a moody backdrop.
