Bone Cage presents a haunting portrayal of a young man's struggle amidst the backdrop of environmental destruction. The film, directed by an unknown hand, draws you into Jamie's world, where the weight of his job as a wood processor becomes palpable. The tension builds slowly, allowing you to feel the emotional dissonance between the necessity of his work and the compassion he shows for the injured creatures he finds. The adaptation from Catherine Banks' play is evident in its dialogue and pacing, which feels almost theatrical at times. The performances, particularly Taylor Olson's, are raw and unfiltered, really grounding the film in reality. There's a somber tone that lingers, making you reflect long after it ends.
