Born Dead is an intriguing documentary that peels back the layers of transformation. It centers on a young ex-con who finds himself in a new world, working with handicapped children. The pacing is slow but deliberate, allowing viewers to really soak in the emotional weight of each interaction. I’ve always found the atmosphere to be quite raw, almost gritty, which adds depth to his journey of redemption. The performances are honest and unvarnished, showcasing the struggles and triumphs of not only the children but the main character as well. What really stands out is the way it explores themes of rehabilitation and human connection without any gloss. It’s not the most polished film out there, but that’s part of its charm.
