Born to Run is one of those TV movies that really dives into the underbelly of street racing culture. Richard Grieco plays the outlaw drag racer, and you can feel the grit and tension in every scene. The pacing keeps you engaged, bouncing between high-octane races and the darker elements of crime and loyalty. Jay Acovone brings a solid performance as the brother in peril, with Joe Cortese embodying that classic crime boss vibe. I find the practical effects during the race scenes are surprisingly well done for a TV film of the time β they really immerse you in that world. Plus, the atmosphere of Brooklyn adds an extra layer of intensity. Itβs not groundbreaking, but it has its own unique charm.
Richard Grieco's performance stands out.Authentic street racing scenes.Dark tone with a gripping sibling storyline.
