Boyne Falls is an interesting ride in the indie thriller scene. The film centers around two buddies, who, instead of a tranquil retreat, get plunged into a nightmarish scenario after finding a meth lab. The tension builds nicely, and the forest setting really enhances that isolated, claustrophobic feel. You can feel the characters’ fear and desperation, making their performances stand out, even if the direction is a bit unpolished. The practical effects, especially during the more intense moments, add a gritty realism that’s hard to ignore. It’s not the most refined film, but it has a certain raw edge that makes it distinctive in a crowded genre.
