So, 'Burn Up' from 1991 is an interesting take on the action genre, wrapped up in anime aesthetics. You’ve got these characters, Maki, Reimi, and Yuka, who seem like they’re just doing mundane traffic patrol. But then it turns dark when Yuka is kidnapped by this shady white slave organization. It’s got a gritty vibe, with a mix of humor and serious undertones. The pacing is a bit uneven at times, bouncing between intense sequences and slower character moments. The animation style gives it a unique flair, and the character designs definitely stand out. The performances, while not always the most groundbreaking, do convey a certain charm that keeps you invested. It’s not your usual action fare, and that’s what makes it distinctive.
Considered a hidden gem in animation circles. The character dynamics are quite engaging.Pacing might feel off but adds to its unique charm.
