Burro is quite an interesting piece from 1989. It's this quirky blend of comedy and drama, set in a quaint Emilia Romagna village. The story revolves around the titular character, Burro, who's not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed but has this endearing innocence about him. His fascination with an actress's photo leads to a strange, almost poignant exploration of love as he projects his feelings onto every girl he meets. There's a rawness to his orphaned existence, especially with the shadow of his father looming over him. The performances have this understated charm, and while the pacing can be a bit uneven, it gives the film a unique, almost dreamlike quality. Definitely has a distinct flavor.
