So, CAM 13 is a neat little horror flick that plays on the whole surveillance theme. A security guard—yeah, he's kind of a lone wolf—stumbles upon this mysterious 13th camera that seems to be watching him. The pacing has this creeping tension that builds up nicely, keeping you on edge. The atmosphere is thick with dread, enhanced by some solid practical effects that add a layer of realism to the scares. Performances are decent, especially the lead, who really sells the paranoia creeping in as the camera becomes more of a character than just a tool. I think what stands out is how it taps into our fears of being constantly watched. A simple premise, but it does it well.
