Camp Forest Green is one of those low-key entries in the slasher genre that brings back the vibe of the old-school camp horror flicks. The atmosphere is thick with suspense, and the setting near Crystal Lake adds that classic sense of dread. The pacing is quite effective, ramping up just as you think things are settling down. While the director remains anonymous, the practical effects are decent for a film of its budget, with some genuinely gnarly moments that remind you of the original slashers. The cast of teenagers, while a bit archetypical, manages to bring a certain charm that keeps you invested, even as they become fodder for the legendary Jason Voorhees. It’s a nostalgic nod to slasher fans without trying too hard to be self-aware.
Solid homage to classic camp slashers.Mix of suspense and familiar tropes.Interesting take on the Jason mythology.
