Cape Cod Cthulhu sort of blends youthful exuberance with Lovecraftian dread, which is really interesting. The practical effects used to depict Cthulhu are surprisingly effective; they lean on the classic monster movie vibe rather than CGI, which I appreciate. The performances from the young cast are all over the place, but in a way, it adds to that raw, indie feel.
