Centerfolds from Hell is a curious blend of sci-fi and some pretty heavy social commentary, wrapped up in a rather unique package. The film follows Donnie Goodman, a photographer with more than a few questionable morals. His trip to another dimension leads to encounters with alien women who challenge his chauvinistic views, all while Montreal's backdrop adds a distinct vibe to the proceedings. The pacing feels a bit uneven, but it’s part of the charm. There’s something almost nostalgic about the practical effects used here, and the performances, especially from the alien women, carry a certain campy yet serious tone. It’s not your average sci-fi flick, and that’s what makes it memorable in its own weird way.
