Cerberus (2021) is an intriguing blend of drama and horror, weaving a tense narrative around Meelis, who’s on a quest for his missing dog. The atmosphere is thick with unease as he finds himself in a village shrouded in mystery, where the lines between good and evil are blurred. The pacing is deliberately slow, letting the dread simmer and build, which I find quite effective. Practical effects are used sparingly but hit the mark when they do, adding a raw edge to the story. The performances, particularly Meelis, feel genuine and grounded, allowing the viewer to sink deeper into the unsettling themes of trust and deception. It’s a film that lingers, makes you think. Not your typical horror fare.
A unique take on horror with dramatic elements.Strong themes of trust and morality.Intriguing character development and atmosphere.
