Chained is an intriguing exploration of the human psyche, where you see this tension between authority and vulnerability. The pacing is quite deliberate, allowing you to really soak in Rashi’s emotional unraveling after a pivotal loss. The tone is heavy, almost oppressive at times, really immersing you in the character's despair. Shani's direction, while perhaps not widely known, brings a rawness that feels genuine, especially in the performances which are quite commendable. It’s not flashy, relying more on the subtleties of human interaction and the weight of personal struggle. You can feel the darkness creeping in, and it lingers with you long after the credits roll. That’s what really sets it apart in this trilogy of love and loss.
