ChickLit is one of those quirky indie comedies that plays with the whole idea of gender expectations in literature. It’s centered around these four blokes who, in a last-ditch effort to save their local pub, decide to write a 'mummy porn' novel. It's basically got this blend of hilarity and absurdity, especially when you think of the whole 'Fifty Shades' phenomenon they're poking fun at. The pacing can feel a bit uneven, but it adds to that raw charm. You get this sense of camaraderie among the characters, and there's something refreshing about seeing guys stepping into a traditionally female space, albeit in a pretty comedic way. Not groundbreaking, but definitely distinctive in its approach to the genre.
