City Hunter is a wild ride, mixing action and comedy with Wong Jing's usual flair. The film’s set on a cruise ship, and boy does it pack a lot into its runtime. You’ve got Jackie Chan doing his trademark stunts and slapstick humor that keeps the energy high. The practical effects, especially during the action sequences, are pretty fun to watch. It embraces that goofy 90s vibe, with over-the-top characters that just make you laugh. The pacing has a bit of a chaotic rhythm to it, which I kind of appreciate—it feels like it’s always on the brink of something absurd. This one’s definitely a unique entry in Chan’s filmography. Not what you’d expect from a typical action flick.
