Cluster (2012) is this tense little horror piece that really leans into the claustrophobia of its setting. I mean, five strangers in a bomb shelter after the world goes up in flames? It’s unsettling right from the start. The pacing can feel deliberate, but it builds an atmosphere thick with paranoia and distrust. The performances are pretty solid; you can sense the desperation and fear that creeps in as they’re trapped. It doesn’t rely on flashy effects, which I find refreshing. Instead, it uses practical effects to heighten the sense of dread. The whole idea of isolation, alongside the psychological unraveling, makes it stand out in the genre. Just a raw, gritty exploration of human nature under extreme pressure.
Focus on character dynamics.Great for discussions on isolation themes.Check out the practical effects work.
