Coupling (2011) is a curious piece, really. The pacing feels almost dreamlike, weaving between moments of stark reality and the surreal. The film dives deep into themes of life and death, exploring how we grasp at meaning in the face of uncertainty. It doesn't hold your hand, leaving much open to interpretation, which is refreshing in a way. The performances are raw and unfiltered; the actors really embody their roles, making every emotion feel palpable. Practical effects are minimal, but when they’re used, they pack a punch, adding to the film's haunting atmosphere. It leaves you thinking long after the credits roll, a testament to its ambition and execution. Definitely stands out for its bold approach to storytelling.
