Coyote Ugly, directed by David McNally, is this quirky mix of comedy, drama, and music that somehow captures the late '90s vibe. The film showcases Piper Perabo as Violet, a fresh-faced songwriter with a killer voice who, instead of hitting it big, finds herself pouring drinks and performing at this wild bar where the female staff do some serious dancing. The pacing has its moments—there's a rush of energy during the bar scenes that contrasts with Violet's quieter introspective moments. It’s fun, it’s messy, and the performances, especially from the supporting cast, bring a unique charm. Not to mention the late-night NYC atmosphere, which adds a certain grit that feels distinct for its time.
