Creature of Darkness is an interesting blend of horror and sci-fi that captures that raw, gritty vibe of early 2000s indie horror. The remote dune setting really amps up the isolation and dread. You can feel the tension build as the couples, who are a bit on the bland side character-wise, unwittingly become prey. The Catcher, the alien hunter, is quite memorable—definitely a DIY design, but it adds to the eerie atmosphere. Practical effects here are a highlight; they deliver that raw impact that CGI often misses. The pacing can feel a bit uneven, but there's something refreshing about its willingness to lean into the absurdity of its premise. If you're into niche horror, this one has its quirks that might appeal to you.
