Criminal is a bit of an overlooked gem. Directed by Gregory Jacobs, it has this laid-back, almost casual vibe that blends action and comedy in a way that feels fresh, even if it stumbles a bit. The performances are solid, especially John C. Reilly as Richard, who brings a certain charm and desperation to the character. The pacing is a tad uneven at times but keeps you intrigued with the clever cons and twists. Rodrigo, played by Diego Luna, has this great poker face that plays well against Reilly's more frantic energy. There's a nice tension between trust and betrayal, which keeps things interesting. Not a huge budget, but they make good use of practical effects for the heist scenes, which adds a layer of authenticity. Worth checking out for collectors interested in offbeat capers.
