Crossroads (2015) brings a gritty, raw energy to the action crime genre. You’ve got Rahim, an ex-con trying to keep his head down, but the shadows of his past are relentless. The atmosphere is thick with tension—especially in those early scenes where he’s just trying to be a cab driver and a father. Then, kaboom! Those old goons show up, and it’s all downhill from there. The pacing picks up nicely, transitioning from a slow burn to a full-on chase. You can really feel the stakes for Rahim; his performance is solid, capturing that desperation and anger. The practical effects are decent, and they really add to the visceral feel of the action. It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s got a certain authenticity that’s hard to ignore.
