Cutting Heads is an interesting exploration of tension and camaraderie in an unusual setting—a barbershop. You've got Daryl, this college kid trying to juggle studies and life, and then there's Burt, fresh out of jail, bringing his own set of challenges. Their dynamic is the heart of the film, really. The atmosphere is gritty yet relatable, making the viewer feel the weight of their struggles. The pacing's pretty steady, allowing character development to breathe, but you can sense that underlying conflict simmering. It’s not flashy but has these subtle performances that really draw you in. Plus, the practical effects are kept to a minimum, which I appreciate; it leans more on dialogue and character than gimmicks. There's something distinctly raw about it that lingers.
