You’ve got Roger Lee as Ryan Steele, a martial artist turned desert ranger, which brings a unique physicality to the role. The pacing feels a bit off at times, but it suits the bleak atmosphere well. The practical effects are surprisingly decent for its time, especially during the action sequences. Themes of survival and the consequences of human folly are woven throughout, making it more than just a fight-fest. It’s the kind of film that sparks conversations about its odd choices and the world-building, which, while not perfect, has a certain charm. Definitely a curiosity in the genre.
