Dada is a curious little documentary. It plays out in just a minute, but there’s a lot packed into that short runtime. Zahedi’s approach is almost playful, capturing the innocence of his one-year-old while subtly weaving in a commentary on parenthood. The atmosphere feels intimate, almost voyeuristic at times, as we observe these fleeting moments that could easily slip past unnoticed. The pacing is brisk, which works well for such a brief scenario, and it really makes you think about how we document the mundane yet precious aspects of life. It’s distinct because it flips the script on traditional documentary storytelling, embracing the absurdity and simplicity of everyday experiences, all while promoting another film. A neat little artifact, for sure.
Unique perspective on parenthood.Very brief runtime, only one minute.Interesting promotional angle tied to 'Babies'.
