Dalaal (1993) is an interesting blend of action and drama that captures the grit of the underbelly of society. The pacing feels a bit uneven at times, swinging from intense action sequences to slower, more dramatic moments which give it that vintage vibe. I mean, the performances are quite the mixed bag. Some actors deliver with a raw energy that feels genuine, while others... well, they lean into melodrama a little too hard. The practical effects, particularly in fight scenes, have that raw charm you just don’t see much these days. It’s definitely distinct in how it tackles themes of loyalty and betrayal, wrapped in a narrative that keeps pushing forward, even when it stumbles a bit.
