Dante's View is an interesting piece from '98, combining a gritty thriller vibe with a raw emotional undercurrent. You’ve got Sam, this young blonde who's down on her luck, pulling off a robbery that spirals out of control – tragedy strikes when her accomplice gets shot. The pacing really captures that frantic energy of desperation. Once she’s stranded in the desolate California landscape, she encounters June, who brings this fresh perspective on life and change. It's got a nice blend of tension and introspection, and the performances, while not overly polished, have this authenticity that grounds the wild plot. The practical effects are understated but effective, enhancing the story without overshadowing the characters. Definitely a unique watch.
