Dark Haul is a peculiar entry in the horror genre from 2014. It's got this gritty, claustrophobic atmosphere, feels like you’re trapped in that 18-wheeler with the characters. The pacing is interesting; it builds tension well, though it sometimes drags a bit. The practical effects stand out, giving the creature a raw, visceral presence that CGI just can’t match. The performances are solid, especially from the sister whose motives keep you guessing. What I find distinctive is how it juggles the themes of duty versus personal agendas, and it does so in a way that feels almost like a character study wrapped in horror. A little rough around the edges but has its charm.
