So, 'Dead by Dawn' is one of those indie horror flicks from 2009 that really tries to capture that classic cabin-in-the-woods vibe. It’s got that gritty, atmospheric feel, you know? The pacing is pretty standard at first, but it ramps up nicely as the teenagers start dropping one by one. The practical effects are decent for a low-budget flick, giving it that raw edge that CGI just can't touch. Although the director's name is lost to time, the performances from the cast are surprisingly engaging, especially considering the script doesn't give them much to work with. It's definitely a film that leans into its horror tropes, but there's a certain charm in its execution. Worth a look if you're into the genre.
