So, 'Deadlock' from 2020, not much buzz around the director but it's quite an intriguing piece. The film dives deep into the lives of two married couples, each from completely different social backgrounds. It all unfolds in a single night, and man, the tension is palpable. The atmosphere is thick, feels almost claustrophobic at times. You really get a sense of how a tragic event can ripple through lives in unexpected ways. The performances are raw and emotional, just felt very authentic. The pacing has this almost relentless quality that keeps you engaged, and the themes of class struggle and moral dilemmas are woven in nicely. It's not flashy, but it doesn’t need to be.
