Death on the Nile (1978) is an interesting blend of opulence and intrigue. The cruise setting gives it this unique atmosphere, right? You’ve got lavish costumes and that striking cinematography capturing the Egyptian landscape. Peter Ustinov as Poirot brings a different charm—less rigid than previous portrayals, I’d say. The pacing is leisurely, which fits the cruise vibe but might test the patience of some. I enjoyed the way the ensemble cast plays off each other; they all have their own secrets, and it feels like everyone could be guilty. Plus, the practical effects in some of the murder scenes add a certain authenticity that modern CGI just can’t replicate. Definitely a solid watch for mystery fans.
