Dihantui Guna Guna is this intriguing little horror piece from 2015 that brings a fresh twist to the ghost hunting trope. Following a group of four, Linda, Billy, Ramzi, and Dave, who join the JAKARTA GHOST SEEKERS, you can feel the youthful energy and the palpable tension as they tackle the haunting of a widow named Agnes. The tone is really atmospheric, weaving together a sense of dread with some surprisingly effective practical effects. They don’t lean heavily on CGI, which is refreshing. The performances, while not always top tier, have a certain charm, especially Melody Prima as Linda. It’s not groundbreaking or anything, but definitely has a unique vibe that sets it apart from more mainstream horror.
Interesting blend of youth culture and supernatural themes. The practical effects add a nice touch to the overall atmosphere.A solid example of Indonesian horror showcasing regional storytelling.
