So, Ding Dong Dead is this indie horror flick that plays around with the whole prank gone wrong theme. It's got a strange charm, really, with these young girls just making life miserable for their neighbors. The pacing is a bit uneven, but it adds to that disjointed suburban vibe. Doug, the main guy, is such a sad sack, you kinda feel for him as he tries to stand up to these pranksters. The practical effects are low-budget but have a certain gritty appeal, and the performances can be a bit over the top, which somehow works. It's not groundbreaking, but it's distinctive in how it mixes mundane suburban life with this underlying horror element. Definitely an oddball in the genre.
