Disasters Under the Sun is quite a harrowing watch, to be honest. Jon Rafman dives deep into this post-human dystopia, and it’s not light fare at all. The animation feels almost haunting, with those faceless 3-D avatars suffering in this surreal digital purgatory. It's like a fever dream, really. The pacing can be disorienting; it lingers in the horror of the situation rather than rushing through it. The themes of existence and torment in a virtual space are thought-provoking. What’s striking is how the visuals convey such raw emotion through abstraction. It’s one of those films that challenges the boundaries of animation, and not just in a traditional sense. Definitely something that sticks with you long after the credits roll.
