Discarnate is this eerie little film that digs into the psyche and the consequences of pushing boundaries. You have this neuroscientist, totally fixated on a mind-expanding drug, and it spirals into chaos pretty quickly. The atmosphere feels dense and oppressive, which really ramps up the tension. It’s got some interesting practical effects that contrast nicely with the psychological elements, making the supernatural force all the more unsettling. The pacing, while a bit uneven at times, keeps you engaged as the story unfolds. Performances are decent; you can feel the strain of their desperation as things go awry. It’s not groundbreaking, but the themes of obsession and the unknown hit home well enough to keep it in your collection if you're into cerebral horror.
