Divergentia D is quite the curious piece. Directed by Ivan Maksimov, it's animated but not in the conventional sense. The visuals – they have this dreamlike quality, almost ethereal. Bach’s compositions lend a weight to it, creating an atmosphere that’s both meditative and haunting. The Divertissement Chamber Orchestra really brings that music to life, layering it with an emotional depth that resonates. Themes of divergence, identity, and perhaps even existentialism weave through the narrative. Pacing can feel a bit languid at times, but it allows for reflection. The practical animation style feels unique, almost reminiscent of classic European artistry. It’s not your typical animation, and that’s what makes it stand out.
