Dizzy Pilots is a curious little entry from 1943, directed by Jules White. The Three Stooges play the Wrong Brothers, a clever but ultimately bumbling duo trying to dodge military service by inventing a plane. The humor is very much in line with their slapstick style, with plenty of pratfalls and visual gags that don't always land, but you can't help but appreciate their commitment to the bit. The pacing is brisk—typical of the two-reel format—though the plot does feel a bit thin. The practical effects on the Buzzard, their ill-fated aircraft, have a certain charm, even if they don't quite soar. Worth a watch for Stooges enthusiasts, if not their best work.
