Dog Soldiers is a real gem in the werewolf genre, blending military action with solid horror. Neil Marshall's direction creates this tense atmosphere, where camaraderie quickly turns into paranoia. The pacing is pretty relentless, keeping you on edge as the soldiers face off against something far more terrifying than each other. Practical effects are a standout here—those creature designs are just gritty and raw, not overly reliant on CGI. The performances, especially from Kevin McKidd and Sean Pertwee, bring a gritty realism that pulls you in. It’s rough around the edges, but that’s part of its charm; it never pretends to be anything other than a bloody good time in the woods.
