Domestic Disturbance, directed by Harold Becker, has this gritty, anxious vibe that really captures the paranoia of a parent. John Travolta gives a solid performance as Frank, the concerned dad. It’s fascinating how the film blurs the line between reality and distrust, especially with Danny’s character, who's not exactly the most reliable narrator. The pacing is tight, keeps you on edge without dragging. There are some practical effects moments that are quite understated but impactful. The score adds a layer of tension too, just enough to get under your skin. It may not be a classic, but there's a certain rawness here that makes it stand out in the early 2000s thriller landscape.
Released on DVD in 2002, later on Blu-ray in 2011.Filmed in various locations in North Carolina.Cinematography by Michael Chapman, known for his work on Raging Bull.
