Dooba Dooba is an unsettling little gem. Set in a claustrophobic home, it uses the mundane backdrop of babysitting to unleash true horror. The tension builds slowly, with the security cameras capturing every awkward moment between the babysitter and the teenager, who seems harmless at first. But as the night unfolds, the girl's behavior veers into unsettling territory. The film does well with practical effects, making the scares feel grounded. There’s this palpable atmosphere throughout, creating a sense of dread that lingers. The performances are surprisingly strong for a relatively low-key production, especially from the teenager, who walks that fine line between innocent and menacing. It’s distinctive in its approach to psychological horror without relying too much on jump scares.
Interesting use of security camera footage.Strong character performances elevate the tension.A fresh take on home invasion themes.
