Dr. T & the Women is one of those Altman films that really dives into the chaos of relationships. You’ve got Richard Gere as this gynecologist, just trying to keep his head above water with all these women around—his wife played by Helen Hunt is unraveling, and the daughters have their own quirks. The pacing feels very Altman, with overlapping dialogues and that conversational tone that makes it feel authentic. The ensemble cast shines, especially with the eccentric characters they portray. There's this strange blend of humor and pathos that Altman pulls off well, capturing the absurdity in everyday life. The Texas setting adds to its charm, too. And you can’t ignore the jazzy score that perfectly complements the offbeat vibe.
