Dragon Wars: D-War is a pretty wild mix of fantasy and horror, with a story that dives into reincarnation and ancient battles. The pacing can feel a bit uneven at times, shifting from drama to all-out dragon mayhem as Ethan uncovers his past. Shim Hyung-rae's direction leans heavily on practical effects, which is refreshing, though the CGI can be hit or miss. The performances, especially by the leads, are earnest enough to keep you engaged amid the chaos. It’s distinctive for its Korean folklore spin, mixing ancient lore with a modern-day Los Angeles backdrop, which is a curious juxtaposition. Definitely not your average monster movie.
