Dragonball Evolution is a curious attempt at adapting a well-regarded anime into live action. The pacing is uneven, especially in the first act, where it struggles to balance exposition with action. The performances feel a bit stilted, particularly from Justin Chatwin as Goku, who tries to channel the spirit of the character but often doesn't hit the mark. Visually, some of the practical effects are decent, though they often clash with the CGI, creating a somewhat disjointed atmosphere. It's interesting to see how it tackles themes of friendship and destiny, though it doesn't resonate quite like the source material. Definitely has its moments, but you can feel the struggle to capture the essence of what makes Dragon Ball special.
