Dragonfyre is an interesting blend of action and fantasy set against a backdrop that feels both rugged and mystical. Our protagonist, John, is this grizzled ex-Special Forces guy who just wants to be left alone, but the intrusion of elves and Orcs really shakes things up. The pacing is a bit uneven, but it gives you time to soak in the atmosphere, especially the scenes with the Native American mystic, which adds depth to the narrative. The practical effects for the Orcs lend a certain charm, too—there's a kind of gritty realism that CGI often misses. It's not a flawless film, but it’s distinctive in its mix of genres and the way it tackles themes of solitude and battle.
