Dressed to Kill is such a fascinating mix of styles. De Palma really leans into the voyeuristic aspects, and the way he plays with light and shadow adds this eerie atmosphere that pulls you in. Angie Dickinson is quite striking in her role, and the performances feel genuine, especially Nancy Allen as Liz. The pacing is interesting, too; it builds tension without rushing. The practical effects—especially in the infamous elevator scene—are a testament to the time. It’s a thriller that flirts with horror, mixing eroticism with a chilling murder mystery. You can definitely see the influences of Hitchcock, which is both a nod and a fresh take for the era. There's a lot to unpack here.
