Eaglewalk is one of those lesser-known horror flicks that does a decent job at capturing the eerie nostalgia of summer camp gone wrong. The atmosphere is thick with a sense of dread as a group of counselors, oblivious to the dark history of Camp Eaglewalk, unwittingly awaken a vengeful Sasquatch. The pacing tilts between moments of quiet tension and bursts of chaos, keeping you on edge. The practical effects, though not groundbreaking, definitely have a certain charm and lend a raw feel to the killings. The performances are pretty standard, but they fit the genre comfortably. There’s an underlying theme about respect for nature and the consequences of disrespecting sacred places, which makes it kind of interesting, albeit wrapped in a slasher package.
Interesting themes of nature and respect.Practical effects give it a raw feel.Captures the summer camp horror vibe well.
