The performances feel grounded, especially from the seasoned correspondent and the cameraman, who bring a sense of realism to their roles. The pacing is deliberate; it doesn’t rush into the horror tropes too quickly, which adds to the sense of dread as they hunt for the missing child. The practical effects used for the bear are effective without over-relying on CGI, which feels refreshing. There’s an underlying commentary on media sensationalism that lingers, making it more than just a survival flick.
