So, 'En même temps' is a comedy that really plays with the dynamics of power and activism. It’s set against this backdrop of a looming vote about a leisure center that threatens to cut down a primal forest, which gives it an interesting environmental angle. The mayor, being this overtly right-wing caricature, is quite amusing, and then you’ve got this ecologist who’s quite serious about his cause. But then, the twist comes with the feminist activists. They really bring a different energy, outsmarting both men in a way that’s clever and sharp. The pacing feels just right, mixing tension with humor, and the performances don’t take themselves too seriously, which keeps it engaging. It’s this peculiar blend of tones that makes it stand out.
Interesting take on activism. Not your typical political comedy.Distinctive character interplay.
