So, 'Erotic University' is quite the curious piece from 2005. It's got this strange mix of romance and comedy, set in an archaeological lab where three research students find themselves stuck overnight. The pacing is odd, naturally, given the circumstances. You can feel the boredom seep into their interactions, and then it shifts as Jeff discovers those erotic videos. There's definitely a playful tone, bordering on absurdity at times. The performances are... well, they fit the vibe, not overly dramatic but they get the job done. What stands out here is the way the film plays with the idea of exploration, both of ancient artifacts and of more personal realms. The practical effects are minimal but serve their purpose. It's not the kind of film you see every day, that's for sure.
