Escape From Babylon is an interesting piece that dives into the gritty underbelly of Port of Spain. Randolph Briggs, our protagonist, is an ex-cop turned taxi driver, and the film does a nice job of capturing that feeling of isolation. The streets he drives through are filled with tension, the atmosphere is thick with dread, and the serial killer subplot adds a layer of urgency to the narrative. The pacing is a bit uneven at times, but it kind of mirrors the chaos of the city itself. The practical effects, while not groundbreaking, do a decent job of delivering some visceral moments. Performances have that raw edge, adding to the film's authenticity. It's a unique watch if you enjoy films that explore the darker shades of urban life.
