Escape Zero is an interesting piece from 2014 that blends action and science fiction in a rather gritty way. The plot revolves around two Marines, Dante and Emmanuel, who are guarding an alien creature—always a tense setup. What’s really intriguing is how the film handles the claustrophobic atmosphere as the engine core failure unleashes the beast. The practical effects are decent for the budget, giving the creature a tangible presence that CGI often lacks. Dante's tough choices about his life support add a nice layer of moral complexity, but at times, the pacing feels uneven. Still, there's a raw edge to the performances that makes it engaging, and it captures that low-budget charm that can sometimes be more appealing than big studio glitz.
